Description: Offered is a combination letter opener and folding knife.Overall length is 9 inches. The blade on the opener is 5 1/2" long, the blade on the knife is 2 1/4" long.Made by Imperial Knife Company of Providence RI, the company was established in 1916 by Felix and Michael Miranda, immigrants from Italy.The knife blade is stamped on the tang with IK CO USA. From our research on tang stamps, this dates the opener to between 1917 and 1925.The handle is made from a pearlized pattern plastic type material. It was an advertising piece, with "Compliments of", "CORPORATION" "of" and "Tennis Gut".The handle has JW carved into it.Some oxidation on the blades, the knife blade is sharp and opens and closes smoothly.
