Description: Vintage Hollow Body Illinois River Mallard Drake Duck Decoy. Unknown carver and paint and is 15.5 inches long. Restored paint . The head should have had more attention paid to it at its restoration as it has painted over rough areas. Cracking paint lines at base of neck likely showing a previous neck crack and higher up a tight age crack that only goes around the neck half way. Has a sleek body and tail profile with protruding breast and V shaped body. High head with glass eyes and bill details at start of bill, nares and mandible. Tag and writing on bottom say Stephen Lane circa 1900 restored 1990s. Possible but I doubt this attribute as it does not resemble my Stephen Lane in my collection. I do agree it is circa 1900 ish. 15.5 inches long. Please see pics for overall condition. Thanks for looking.
