Description: Up for Sale is my Original GRETSCH Snare Drum in White Pearl that I got new in 1959. I received this as a birthday gift from my father back in 1959 when I was 10 years old. It is all original except for the skins and they go back to 1961. They originally had the real natural skins but I remember playing it one day and the stick broke right through the top skin. I took it to the local drum shop and they replaced both of them with new Ludwig skins. I used this drum a few years playing in an instrumental group up to around 1962. it has not been used since then. It had been stored away in a good environment until about 6 years ago when I met a vintage drum collector then and he asked to see my drum and after showing it to him he volunteered to clean it up and tune it. All he replaced is the strings that hold the springs. He even attached the original strings that were on there as can be seen on the pictures. He said the piece was in great shape and wanted to buy it, but I wanted to keep it. It again was stored away till now. It does have some light pitting on some of the chrome and there is light scratches here and there. I've tried to show this in the pictures. The top diameter is approx. 15 inches and the height is approx. 7 inches. It really is a nice vintage high quality drum that is 63 years old and can still be used as is.
