Esquire is an American men's magazine, published by the Hearst Corporation in the United States. Founded in 1933, it flourished during the Great Depression under the guidance of founders Arnold Gingrich, David A. Smart and Henry L. Jackson. Arnold W. Gingrich (December 5, 1903 – July 9, 1976) was the editor of, and, along with publisher David A. Smart and Henry L. Jackson, co-founder of Esquire magazine. The magazine is approximately 10" x 13". This edition contains Esquire's La Belle Secret - Denise Darcel - by Philippe Halsman. It also contains the following articles, "Inside Inside - Of the men - and the women - who cover the war", Queen of the Sulkies - The most colorful lady in harness racing" and "Bronco Elephant - The man who talked with the tusker" by Kenneth Perkins, among many others. Internally, it is firmly bound with 166 pages. Overall, it is in Fair+/Good- Condition. The boards have wear, with some browning, discoloration, nicks, chips, creases, stains and tears. There are creases in the corners and creases on some of the pages. The spine has tears and some stains. Some age-related browning on the pages, as well as some foxing and spotting on a few pages.
