I was blessed to have a conversation with Dorothy's grandson, Kent, who shared the catalogue for this vase. So how did she get her name?? Well, it's a really nice love story! Kenny Dills designed this head vase for Dorothy. Kenny went to war and when he came back he married Spanish royalty.... and you guessed it, her name was Maria. At the time there was also a popular song "Maria Elena." So there you go... Maria Elena! This vase is gorgeous and I just love pieces that have a story behind them! No chips or cracks.
