Description: Vintage Dayton Hobart Decorative White Enameled Back Lit Weight Scale. This unique, Model 970, Dayton Hobart, white enameled, meat or grocery, weight scale is in very good, vintage, cosmetic condition. There are some very minor scratches and marks here and there and the face plate is a bit worn. This model of scale was originally released in 1938 and judging from the "cent" gradutions is probably from the 1940 to 1960s. It sports a Canadian "Weights and Measures" inspection sticker from 1975, when it was most likely last used commercially. It was originally designed to weigh up to 18lb, but no longer functions as a scale (the drum mechanism is locked) and is being sold in "as is" condition for decoration or parts. The original incandescent lighting has been replaced with low wattage, LED strip lighting which can be switched on and off as desired. It makes for a wonderful decorative, conversation piece for display in your kitchen, shop, restaurant or elsewhere as desired. It measures about 14" x 19" x 18" and weighs about 50 lb.
