Description: VINTAGE CORTEZ LES PAUL Electric Guitar W/New RR Case. Ive owned hundreds of Les Paul guitars from the real overpriced Gibsons to the cheaper overseas versions with prices in the thousands to 300 bucks. Some just stick out as great instruments that just have it. This is one of those instruments. The Cortez brand mainly produced by Matsumoku and were all great instruments. This set neck build is more than likely made by Yamika as its not a Matty. To me being a vintage player and collector for over 40 years it says to me its a Yamaki build. Very similar to my Washburn Falcon with the same pickups and electronic schematics with Push/ pull pots on the volumes. This is not a chambered LP but a solid 11lb monster. Has some wear and tear as shown but nothing ugly or out of the ordinary from this era. The binding work around the neck and frets is impeccable. Has upgraded Gibson bridge and tailpiece from the early 90s. Also has vintage Grover tuners that keep you spot on. All being said this I put face to face with my 70s Gibson standard all day long for less than a quarter the price. Comes with rare new diamond roadrunner case for ultra protection.
