Description: Amazing, rare, vintage find! Single stitch, made in the USA. At the end of the 1995 season, Cedar Point announced that their next new ride would be Banshee, a stand-up coaster. A few days later, the name was changed due to some controversy surrounding its meaning, and the name was changed to Mantis. They already had these shirts printed up ahead of time (they were given for free to those who renewed their season pass or purchased a new one for the following 1996 season). In order to fix the problem, they screen printed Mantis on the back and a canceled (then known as a no sign) sign over the Banshee logo. They were only available in XL, or one-size-fits-all. I believe these were limited to just a couple hundred, and very few exist today. Today, this ride has been repainted, refitted with new trains, and renamed as Rougarou. This is in excellent, but not pristine condition. The logo is bright and vibrant, the silver color in the Banshee logo is slightly metallic. There are no stains or holes. The logos look great under normal lighting, but the black no sign looks slightly cracked when held up in front of a sunny window and looked at closely. It feels smooth when touched. There is a white spot on the black no sign where the decal didn’t fully adhere to the fabric. I machine washed and dried this just prior to photographing and it held up great. This would be a great display piece but would also hold up to wearing and washing. This shirt is AUTHENTIC, original, and a true vintage piece. Measurements are shown in the photos.
