It is a bronze (I believe) copy of a XV Century Bust of Christ mounted on a lush deep maroon velvet. Hanging loop on back along with information on this work of art. I believe the bust was donated to the National Gallery of Art in the early 1940's and my quess is this dates to the 1940's, just a guess. Excellent patina on the finish of plaque, even deep coloring. Beautiful pre-owned older vintage condition. No obvious damage. Coloring is darker than pics are reading, velvet is a burgundy & bronze is darker. Handsome.
