Description: Add a touch of Italian sophistication and style to your wardrobe with this vintage Borsalino “Continental” Homburg. With its side pinches and medium crown, this ain’t no stuffy homburg from the 19th century. The taupe color is hard to describe: let’s go with brown with an olive cast. It’s really quite a lovely, unusual color. Like all Borsalinos, the felt of the crown is soft and shapeable. The photo shows it as a single dent, but it might also be easily shaped as a modest c-crown (without the bubble). Don’t be confused by the 59 on the sizing label. Borsalinos typically run a size smaller, and this is definitely true for this homburg. If you normally wear a 7 1/4 or 58 you should be fine. Do not buy it if your head is larger than a 58. Borsalino experts have identified the hat as dating from the 70s or 80s. It was originally sold by the famous Worth & Worth Hat Store in New York City. This Continental is in excellent condition. No stains on the felt, but there is one tiny moth bite on the front underside of the brim (see photo)—it is invisible to anyone looking at the hat while you’re wearing it. Crown: 4” (front, rear), 4 3/4” (side) Brim: 2 1/2” (including the curl); Hatband: 1 3/4” wide; brown Sweatband: leather Lining: satin Oh, did I mention that this homburg is made by Borsalino!
