Description: Up for auction is a beautiful vintage Oriental bamboo reed handpainted hanging screen/window shade/room divider. This unique piece could be used on its own as a beautiful wall decoration or on a glass door to diffuse incoming sunlight or as a room divider. Please note that this piece is in the style of a scroll - no hardware or cords to roll up - just to be hung and admired as a beautiful piece of art. This Asian scene depicts a man and woman both riding oxen down a hill with a large oriental style pine tree on the left. There are also some Asian characters (Japanese/Chinese?) on the top left side of the wall hanging. This unique piece was part of an estate and believed to be from the 1950's. The top bamboo piece has two pre-drilled screw holes (with screws) that were used by the previous owner to attach to a ceiling, door frame or wall. These can easily be removed by the new owner, if desired. Please see pictures for Details. Age: Unknown, believed to be from approximately the 1950's. Size: Shade measures approximately 36" wide x 73-1/2" long including top bamboo rod. Condition: Good to Very Good Over-all Condition for a vintage collectible. Reeds are whole and intact with the exception of 2 short broken ends in far upper right hand corner. (See last picture for detail.) Please see enlarged pictures for detailed condition.
