Description: Vintage American Indian toy war club, pre-owned in very good condition. The head is Pipestone (argillite) 3" x 1" tapered to a point at each end with a hole drilled through the center for a wood handle. The handle is 9" long and covered with soft tanned leather stitched together along the length of the handle. The head is held onto the handle with a strip of leather that wraps around from each side and tied in a knot at the top. Attached to this knot are 10 loose strips of leather, 3 1/2" long. At the other end, 1 1/2" strips of leather are attached to the handle. The handle is decorated with a string of small colored beads, (4 rows 3/8") 1" down from the head. This toy war club is Lakota Sioux in origin and will make a nice addition to any collection of North American Indian Artifacts.
