Description: Vintage Advertising Graduation Girl 38" Stand Up Store Sign for Lane Hope Chest Click images to enlarge Description Vintage cardboard advertising store display sign (circa 1960's) features a die cut of a young lady wearing her white graduate gown and cap and holding her diploma, all tied up with a red ribbon. Over to the side, in a blue 'bubble' it reads: Today's modern grad says, '... my future begins with my Lane'. Lane was, and probably still is, the most well known maker of quality furniture chests, especially 'Hope' chests for girls intending to get married. It seems there was an assumption that was every girl's dream and what a prefect place to put linens, silver, or other items acquired for their future home! This sign has a backing that allows it to be displayed anywhere. The size is about 16" wide x 38" tall. It has a natural crease in the center that allows it to be folded in half. It is in decent condition, though it does have a couple of tears on the cardboard stand and some staining (nothing recent) on the back side. The front is very good but it is torn about half way across at the seam, as shown. We didn't want to add tape to that line on the front. The repair seems to be a simple one - that is for the new owner to decide and handle - we've added tape to the back side to keep it stable (it's about 8-1/2" wide at this point). It's still a great display item! Shipping Items paid for late in the day, may not be packed for shipping until the next business day/evening, and leave the following day.
