Marked 830S and a drinking horn shaped like a J from Sylvsmidja of Voss, Norway which has been in existence since 1940. Weight 12 grams. Excellent condition Sølje is the National Jewelry of Norway. Dating back hundreds of years, its filigree and dangling spoons were said to protect the vulnerable (those in transition, hence babies and brides) from evil spirits, trolls, and danger. This design features a crowned heart with dangling spoons and crosses. Traditionally worn on wedding gowns in Norway, however they can be worn by anyone, at any time.
