Vintage 6 Pc Adams Ming Toi Ironstone Bread Plates England Calyx Ware 6.25” Diam

Description: This auction is for a hard to find Adams Chinoiserie 6 pc bread plate set, pattern is Ming Toi. Background is soft aqua blue with hashed navy border & floral around edge, center of plate has garden tree with bird (a crane or stork maybe) The set includes 6 bread plates that measures approximately 6.25” diameter. An extremely hard to find pattern, the condition is relative to age. Crazing to some pieces & age discoloration, age wear to others. Please supersize the photos as they present nicely, even in less than perfect condition. 3 plates are all in very good condition, wear at edges but no chips. One plate is in very good condition from the front but has an old chip on front edge and two plates has allover crazing with noticeable discoloration and hairline cracks. All would be great for wall/shelf/bookcase/table display! Signed on bottom. About pattern….. Ming Toi – Blue pattern #7860 was an Adam’s Calyx Ware issue of the 1930s and was revived under Wedgwood about 1968. Featuring an oriental design of blossoms growing from the tree and a bird flying by the range is completed by two tan borders broken up by separate geometric designs and panels combining oriental flowers. Originally hand painted until Wedgwood purchased Adams & Sons January 1st 1966 it stayed in production until Britain’s cleaner air requirement came into effect and production on the pattern ceased.
