A COLLECTOR'S TREASURE THIS IS A CLASSIFIED LISTING This bedroom Vanity/Dressing table ensemble from the R-way Northern Furniture, series #5752. To the best of our knowledge this matched 5 piece set is more than 60 years old and has been kept in very good condition, requiring little to bring back to its original glory. There is some minor wear that is expected for furniture of its age and we have done our best to depict the condition with photos and the offer to view the pieces in person. The set consists of the following rarely-found pieces: · Solid Mahogany Vanity/Dressing Table with 3 drawers (48"W x 18-1/2"D x 30-1/4"T · Solid Mahogany Oval Sitting Stool Qty (26"W x 15-1/4"D x 18"T) · Mahogany Vanity Mirror with arrow motif (22" x 14") · Mahogany Night Stands/End Tables (28 1/4"H x 16"W x 13"D) Qty (2) The pieces, once part of a larger bedroom set, were purchase as coordinated set and kept in my family since 1950. Vanity and end tables have fitted, tempered glass tops . Constructed with dovetailed joinery, all pieces are nice and tight throughout. Please remember that antique items will show some wear and imperfections they have acquired through the years. This adds to their charm and character and authenticates the history of the pieces making them more desirable and collectible. Company History: R-Way Furniture Company was a furniture company based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. R-way Furniture was initially founded in 1881 under a different name - Mattoon Manufacturing Co. In 1942, Mattoon Manufacturing Company opened a chain of nearly a dozen showrooms so that customers could see the products that they manufactured. They also launched a catalogue so that customers can order items to their homes. It was not until 1949, after Mattoon Manufacturing changed hands that the name was changed to R-Way Furniture. The company continued to operate under this name until 1992, when production began to dwindle. By 1993, production had dropped so much that R-way Furniture Company’s plant was auctioned to the public and R-way ceased trading. Value of R-Way Furniture Since this furniture was made of high quality materials, pieces made R-way Furniture Company are still popular among buyers of vintage furniture. Full dining sets, which include sideboards, desks, dressers and tables, for instance, can still sell for nearly $6,000 or more in mint condition. The RWAY label was added to Northern Furniture in 1949. We anticipate these pieces pre-date 1950 since only the Northern Furniture logo and not the RWAY label appear on the pieces, effectively qualifying them to be antique.
