Description: Vintage 2-sided 1999 AIGA Boston Adams Morioka design lecture poster mailer designed by Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka. From the internet:AdamsMorioka was one of the most notable international firms from 1993 to 2015. In the early 1990s, graphic design trends focused on grunge, dystopia, and illegible typography; AdamsMorioka’s work contradicted this. The firm adhered to the philosophy of clarity, purity, and resonance: clarity of message, purity of form, and emotional resonance. Initially, the work was vilified by some in the design world while clients engaged with the philosophy, and the firm flourished. By the end of the 1990s, the mainstream design industry had adopted much of AdamsMorioka’s approach. Hopefully, the firm’s legacy is the shift from the designer dress in black, ready to throw a tantrum at any moment, to truly collaborating with clients. Work should speak to all audiences, not just an elite and a small group who “understand” avant-garde design. And humor, play, and lightness are positive rather than less relevant. It was a fabulous adventure. The poster will be mailed in a sturdy cardboard tube. Smoke-free home
