Vintage 1986 Guild X-500 Stuart Hollowbody Guitar w/ OHSC Very Nice!

Description: Please read complete description and carefully look at all photos.Vintage 1986 Guild X-500 Stuart Hollowbody Guitar with what I believe to be the original hard case. This is Guild’s flagship model. As pretty a sunburst finish as one will ever see! I have this listed as "Very Good" but it is oh so close to excellent! The worst culprit is an area of very fine, shallow buckle rash on back. I do believe some very fine wet sanding then polishing will make a good bit of that go away. I tried to get it to show up in the photos but just couldn't. Some typical fine scratches in bridge area from intonation adjustment over the years. All of the nitro lacquer finish has a nice rich looking gloss. There are light play/handling scratches here and there but not bad. There is a small thumbnail sized scratch where the neck meets the body. There is a pea sized abrasion at the base of the heel of the neck. There are a couple of tiny nicks at the top edge of the headstock that are very hard to feel. Can't feel any obvious imperfections on the back of the neck. Ebony fretboard and beautiful MOP inlays look outstanding. Light fret wear. There is wear in the gold finish on the original hardware (typical for a guitar of this vintage). Some gold finish wear and mottling on original HB-1 pickups. Some fine play scratches on pickguard and some scattered fine play scratches in play area (not bad). Electronics work as they should and sound outstanding. There might be some slight scratchiness in pots, switches and/or jack from long term storage (I didn't note anything obvious but I always put in this disclaimer). Truss rod nut tightens and loosens smoothly. This guitar is in outstanding condition for a 38 year old vintage guitar. If you've been wanting one of these, you will be very happy with this one. Guitar weighs (as shown in photos) 9 pounds, 5.4 ounces. Comes with what I believe to be the original hard case (have more photos of case). Case has a bit of wear but latches up tight and fits the guitar nicely. I will sometimes use UPS instead of FedEx even when FedEx is selected. When I do, I will absorb any extra cost.
