This tall 63.5cm frameset and fork includes original headset, seat post clam, and AVA French stem with drop bars (with new Newbaums brown grip tape). Substantial upgrades include many 1980s quality components, and some newer parts: 80s SR Custom Japan cranks with original dust caps, upgraded Shimano bottom bracket, MIJ pedals with reflectors, newer Well Go metal tole clips, black straps, and a vintage 1980s Schwinn Approved comfort spring saddle. This is a conversion bike using a custom built track wheelset with 700c Arc-en-Ciel tubular Super Champion Competition hoops with Wolber ‘Leader 80’ 700x22c hand made tubular tires, Maillard made in France high flange hubs and 16 tooth single speed track cog. The chainring ring is a 42 tooth with rare 118 BCD, giving this custom bike a comfortable gear ratio of 2.625, with KMC blue / white red track chain (vintage NOS, very rare). The bike has cosmetic wear, decal wear, and a diy white overspray over the original, which has significant weather checking and wear. There’s just nothing like these old lightweight steel frames, and one this tall is hard to find. It will be packed well and disassembled for safe shipping in a heavy duty bike box.
