Description: NOTE: the first photo, of the red glowing globe, was produced using a flashlight. I have not tested this lantern with flame, nor has it had any fuel in it for decades. I do not know if the lantern is in safe working condition or not. The lantern is a Dietz Monarch and was made in the Syracuse NY factory, in October 1952. This Dietz Monarch has a blue body that’s 14” tall (not including the wire handle) and a Dietz Fitzall 6 1/2” red glass globe used for railroad work. Other condition notes: the inside edge of the rim of the fuel bottle, where the burner attaches, has a dent (see the 14th photo). The dent doesn’t seem to make any difference to attaching the burner, as it still latches on and off and sits/aligns properly without any problem. When raising or lowering the globe, you need to squeeze the globe-guard wires momentarily to make them clear the edge of the lantern tubes because the wires are no longer perfectly bent, then it can move freely. Some rusty spots, some paint damage, wires have some unoriginal bends, as expect for an item of this age. See close-up photos for more details about condition.
