Description: From a local estate vintage clothing collection, this is a c. 1950's handmade, machine sewn empire waist style dress. It is in good vintage condition. It has a metal zipper and hook and eye closures. The top hook and eye at the neck is tight but can be opened up a bit to loosen it. I will leave that to the collector. It functions fine as it is, just a bit tight. The material pattern is an abstract geometric design. It appears to be cotton or some type of cotton blend. Measurements are approximately - underarm to underarm 14.5 inches. Across hips 16.5 inches, waist 12.5 inches and the length, measured from the front neck to the hem is 41". There is also a pretty generous hem. The dress has some stylish details including a slit on each side and bow on the front. The sleeves are slit type sleeveless. I don't see any glaring problems - possibly there is some sunning at the very top of the shoulders but that could just be the pattern which has that type of color and design. I tried to research which clothing pattern this might have been made from. So far I have found similar 1950's ones but not exact. The estate this dress came from had two high school girls who had a large clothing collection and most of it survived fairly well. Buyer to pay $8 shipping. I will package carefully and ship promptly. I will be listing more items from this collection as I sort through them.
