Description: Here is a very special 1930s Art Deco suitcase made by the famous Hartmann Luggage Company which was founded in 1877 and still survives to this day even though it is now owned by Samsonite. This suitcase could also be known as a shoe trunk/case as that is its sole function. It has 12 shoe compartments made of a green corduroy fabric and while you might assume it was for a woman I suppose it could have been for a man as well. I'm guessing 1930s but frankly I don't think it would have looked out of place if it had set sail on the Titanic in 1912. It is monogrammed M.D.A. and it has some wonderful vintage stickers on it as well giving us a small window into the journeys and places it's been. It has a beautiful yellow/gold color with two stripes, brown metal framework and a leather handle It measures approximately 21" long, 22" high and 9" wide. There aren't a whole lot of these out there and to have one made by Hartmann is quite special indeed. Thanks for looking.
