Description: Circa 1886, "Jewel" manufactured hand stitching tool/sewing machine. It was used in the home, farm, warehouse, and shipping docks. Used for stitching closed merchandise burlap and/or canvas bags and for stitching leather, twine, carpets, and more. Crafted of wood, enameled cast iron, and steel, and it is in very nice condition, still works great. Needle point is still sharp! Photos are tough because of the glare from the stitcher. It is black with floral motiff decals on both faces and each side of stitcher. Length 9 inches closed, appx 13 inches extended Width 4.5inches at handles, appx 1.5 at needlepoint Weight 8-10oz Please see the photos for further details and are part of the description. If you have questions, please send me a msg and ask before you buy. I do not do returns. This is an original, vintage piece of functional sewing history. It is old so it does bear witness to its age and usage. It is a wonderful piece for the buyer to enjoy as decor, prop, or put it back to work! Thank you for shopping with me and please see my other items for offer. I will happily combine shipping on multiple purchases when possible. Please request a total for combined shipping, before paying. If this is not done, sorry, but I may not be able to combine shipping. Questions and offers are welcome!
