The earrings are actual 1,000 Lire coins that have been made into jewelry. The wire backings are signed JCM and are 10k yellow gold. I would estimate that the backings weigh about .5 or .6 grams. The earrings look to be in good condition, with some scuffs and scratches here and there. One of the loops that the wire backings feed into looks to be slightly bent.
