The Victorinox and Wenger 1982 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1982 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1982, and it is relatively uncommon.Soldier knives with an 82 date have a hollow rivet, a cutting notch in the bottle opener, and a square box for the Waffenkontrolle inspection stamp. Victorinox knives have a polished blade, while Wengers are matte without visible striations (similar to the 1981 Soldier).
