Description: Thisantique British Victorian slope is a stunning piece crafted from the finest coromandel veneer (now extinct) and gilded brass in a Gothic stye. All original! Dates between 1865-1880. In museum display condition! Note the serpentine silhouette of the letter box viewed from the side. All the brass studs intact. No losses of any kind and it has the original patina. Two original period inkwells. The velvet writing surface with gold embossing is original as well and there are hidden shelves underneath and below the letter box as seen in the fourth pic. Includes a cow bone straight edge as well. Coromandel is a variety of ebony and was quite expensive even in the Victorian period. It was generally reserved for well-heeled customers and often on custom-made pieces. Dividers intact in the stationery section. Whether you're a collector or simply looking for a unique piece to add to your home, this rare Victorian slope is sure to impress. This is sure to continue appreciating. One of the finest such pieces I've ever seen.
