Description: Very old figured/curly eastern hard maple, Backs irregularly shaped, about 8.3 wide at lower bout, 22 long , sanded to about 0.185 thick Sides, 32 long, 5 to 4.1 wide sanded to approximately 0.145 thick, a few more saw marks still present Some of my oldest wood, from my mentor who purchased this log in 1977 in Kentucky. Pieces are all from same large old plank, quite beautiful, supersize pictures. Last pic is some discoloration on back face of one of the plates due to age, should dress away at final thickness. The edges have not been jointed, as I have left them as wide as possible.
