Description: Very Rare 22 part edition of The Works of William Hogarth a complete edition of this celebratedpainter, engraved on steel by the first artists, with descriptive letters-press by the Rev John Trusler.These were sold by part and there are 22 parts, the price was 25 cents in the USA and 1 Shilling in England25 cents in this period was expensive. Each Part has about 4 engravings, other than part I which is a lotof narrative and providing background to this acclaimed artist. I have seen a part here and there for sale and usually each part goes for $25, I have not seen a set of all 22for sale. I have had this in my collection for years and am now putting up for sale for someone else to enjoy.This set is estimated to be circa 1830-1840. This would make an awesome gift for someone.
