Description: Offered here is a very rare brass pin back badge that reads "California Electric Company" around Employee and a lighted up light bulb. This company was located near San Francisco and manufactured explosive blasting machine mechanisms for the famous (and early) H. Julius Smith Company. I have seen a small tag attached to a Julius Smith Blasting Machine that showed the California Electric Company as part of the process to make the machine, likely the interior wound copper dynamo. Measures 1.75 x 2.50. The original stamping is quite shallow and tough to photograph. A rare piece of early California Explosives Company history. Thanks for looking!
