Description: TENNANTITE cast after CHALCOCITE: Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia. Dimensions: 9.5 x 6.8 x 5.0cm, cabinet. This is a remarkable geometric and sculptural Tsumeb piece that is a Tennantite cast after Chalcocite from Tsumeb. The angular pattern that remains is the result of the dissolution of a previously existing mineral where the Tennantite/Chalcocite filled the interstices between the crystals. This is out of my personal collection and is the only one like this that I have seen. I purchased it decades ago from Carousel Gems and Minerals and their label is included and a photograph provided here. Smithsonite casts from Tsumeb are relatively common but this type of cast is an extereme rarity! Buyer pays FedEx Home Delivery shipping and any sales tax. No shipping to PO boxes.
