Description: Up for sale here is a very rare 1941 map of the Mount Desert Island Region of the Maine Coast created by renowned Maine artist and historian Luther Phillips. Original frame, copyright in corner. Estate sale find. Framed approximately 21x18. The only examples I have found to compare it to make this a highly sought after and desirable collectable for any Maine historian. To my knowledge it is original to period and not a reproduction. Framing job is clearly fairly old and it doesn't seem this was reprinted in the pre-digital age. All offers happily considered. Shipped with insurance for cost of sale.
