Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here we have a beautiful and finely crafted sauce tureen with an attached underplate. This was artfully crafted by a master potter who took great care in the design of this sauce tureen. The top of the lid, side, underplate and even the ends of the handles are decorated with applied white flowers and leaves. These decorations were separately molded from white glazed clay and applied to the yellow ware body before it was fired. This decorative technique is known as sprigging. This is thin-walled and rings like a bell when you tap it. The tureen measures 6” to the top of the handle on the lid and 7 ½” in width from handle to handle. This wonderful tureen has been cherished for 200+ years and is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. This is an extremely rare tureen which does not appear in any of the books on yellow ware and would be highly prized by the advanced collector.
