Description: Beautiful Colorado Springs, CO souvenir plate made by Vernon Kilns from Vernon CA. This plate was made specifically for Kaufman's Fashion Store These plates were mfg. using transferware process in placing scenes from local tourist areas onto a china plate. The art was produced by several well knowen artists plates produced during the 30's and 40's such as Orpha Klinker and Rockwell Kent. This plate has a number of scenes from the local Colorado Springs landmarks (some of which are gone now, such as the Antlers Hotel on Pikes Peak Avenue), The Broadmoor Hotel and the Will Rodgers Memorial. Plate measures 10 3/8" and is royal blue. No cracks, chips or crazing. A beautiful piece of Depression era art! I am currently liquidating my collection of Vernon Souvenir plates and will be listing them over the next several days on EBay.
