The Les Paul Classic series, which became popular for its vintage-style look, is made in 2007, as opposed to the Les Paul Standard, which used modern specs from 1989-90. It features a maple top, mahogany back, 1960 slim taper mahogany neck, amber-colored position marks on the rosewood fingerboard, a Nashville TOM bridge, and a stamped serial number. Many people are looking for this Les Paul Classic because of the tight sound of the non-chambered body and the slim grip. The serial number has been blurred and cannot be read except in some areas, the pickups have been changed to covered Burstbucker 2 and Burstbucker 3, the truss rod cover and pickguard have been replaced with plain types, and the rear pickup escutcheon screws have been replaced.
