Click images to enlarge Description USA Scott #300 stamp tied by June 17, 1907 Bibo New Mexico Doane cancel (DPO 1895-1920 Scarcity 3 Valencia County) on postcard showing Papago Indian filling the olla. Todsen Type 1, R-4 scarcity rating. The six Bibo brothers settled in western Valencia in the 1880s. Ben Bibo opened a store and started a post office in 1895 serving a remote ranching region, now a part of modern Cibola County. From 1895 to 1920 this small, largely Hispanic community was known as Bibo, New Mexico. Today the settlement is known as Cebolletita, an older and currently preferred Toponym. No postmarks are known from the 1890s, the first canceller is apparently the Type 1 Doane 2/1 used from 1905 to 1910 and is the only known territorial postmark for Bibo, New Mexico. Sent 1907, undivided back with bottom right edge tear/corner creasing (from address side) some surface creasing, corner bumping and toning. Fair condition.
