Unique Compote Bowl Antique American Brilliant Cut Glass Crystal Gothic Sterling

Description: This is a lovely cut glass Serving or Cabinet Bowl for displayMeasures: 6" tall by 5-1/2" wide top rim. base is 4-1/4" wide. This is from the American Brilliant period (1870 to 1920's).This is a gorgeous floral & geometric motif called "Gothic" on a very rare shape. I've only seen one other compote in this pattern/shape- it is a unique shape. Lots of cane chains crisscrossing through jeweled center flowers. This pattern resembles Fry's "Pershing" and is almost always mis-identified as Fry Pershing when found- however this pattern is seen in 2 retailer catalogs- McClurg & Geo Brodnax. The Brodnax catalog sold glass from Luzerne co, Meriden co, Sterling co & Clark co- therefore experts will agree that this is most likely a pattern cut by Sterling co. The same compote sold a few years back for 250 + shipping- it was sold incorrectly as Fry Pershing pattern. I am selling it for a fraction of the cost and not misleading my buyer on the ID! Shop here with confidence.Condition: It displays great. It is over 100 years old and has the regular scratches/scuffs on the bottom from table contact but no chips on the base. The rim- top rim has only a couple microscopic rough spots from contact nips, but only 1 visible fleabite on the outside of the rim that I doubt anyone would notice.
