Description: DESCRIPTION: Here is an uncommon late 19th century Copeland porcelain pastille burner / night light in the form of Shakespeares cottage. his item is all hand painted and well modelled. The pastille burner comes in two parts, one being the cottage and the other the base that the cottage sits on. The base has a raised porcelain rectangle so that you can locate it on the base.The underside of the base has had tape put around the edge which kind of acts like felt to stop scratching. Marked to the base with a green Copeland backstamp and a faint A 2 to the top left hand corner. The mark dates it from 1880 SIZE: The pastille burner measures 5 inches high, 5 inches wide and 5 inches in depth. Weighs 872 g before packing. CONDITION: There is no chips, cracks or restoration but has small areas of ware due to age. The base has a little ware around the four corners of the rectangle where the cottage part has been put back on over the years.
