Description: Folding Paper for Children is an unusual ABC book, published in Japan while still under US occupation in 1951. Extremely rare in the first edition. This is an oversize book, 14 1/2" by 10 1/2", with 52 pages, 2 for each letter. One page shows an illustration (B for Boat, Q for Quadraped, etc.) while the opposite page has instructions on making an origami model. The binding is solid, with bumps to the upper corners. The front cover is very slightly soiled, and has a couple of small pencil marks. The interior has a 1951 gift inscription in light pencil, but is otherwise pristine. See photos. A great find for collectors of children's ABC books, art books, post-war Japanese printings, etc.
