The world record for the gloriamaris in 1973 was 140.9mm and this baby is 150mm, wow! The other thing you do not expect of a shell of this size is for it to be in the great condition it is---as the photos show, on examination the shell does have repairs, but the repairs are seen after you have recovered from the shock of seeing a gloriamaris this big, they're there, but they don't destroy the beauty of the shell. . This live collected shell has a perfect spire, an exquisite pattern, and two recent repairs on its lip, (the shell had survived many a fight before it was collected,) yet again, as the photos show, it makes a 100mm gloriamaris look like it is a toy, and it truly is a one-of-a-kind, very rarely offered ultra-elite of the species, that will look wonderful on your shelf! The ultra-perfect shell for a first-rate collection... PS---I learned recently that this is not the world record, I didn't think it would be, but it still is the kind of shell that very few will ever get to own...
