I mean, really, I can remember when back in the sixties and seventies there were only six of these shells in the entire world, all found after a big storm, all found on the beach on the Indian side of Africa, almost all found by just one couple, and almost all ending up in a museum lucky enough to get one. This shell was so rare it was rarely included in any book, (I mean, why bother if no one was ever going to see one, much less own one, right?) and the only reason I knew anything about them was because of a big article in the Hawaiian Shell News about the beachcombers in Africa who had been finding them. Then one day those beachcombers learned somehow that a shrimp trawler had picked up a couple of live ones... They scampered down to the docks, and the rest is history.... And this shell is the perfect example of why those folks went to all of that trouble to find one---virtually flawless (it has a tiny repair on one of the upper whorls, I mean, you have to search for it to find it, much less see it, but it's there, so...) anyhow, this very near-GEM giant is the kind of shell that makes one nervous to hold, it is so nice, and as the photos show, it is huge---the comparison shell is a nice size milneedwardsi all on its own, yet is looks sort of dinky next to this one---so all I can say is, wow, this is a beauty that will look awesome sitting on your shelf!The ultra-perfect shell for the first-class collection. As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!As for feedback, as your know, sellers live and die by the feedback you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know!
