It fits directly into your headlight socket. It is a bright white in color (6500K). It is brighter, lasts longer, uses less watts (but is 10x brighter per watt), and will not melt your lens if kept on too long. It does not get hot like a halogen bulb. It is non-polarity so you just plug it in. There is no modification or rewiring need to your bike. It's as easy as changing a light bulb. And you can still use your rubber lens boot to keep your bulb in inside of the lens clean. This bulb is custom made with a front projection lens, the beam angle is 360 degrees, it has a steel base and an alloy body. However, it is the front projections that makes it so effective.
