Description: Turkoman bagface, Khordjin, ca. 1930; 1’6” x 2’3” / 47 x 70 cm. Intact Khordjin with closure loops, hand -knotted bag faces decorated with reciprocal intermeshed cruciforms and “x”shapes which form a lattice of octagons. Border systems show rows of chevron shaped plants, pentagonal lappets, and tiny checkerboard squares. Joining the faces, an embroidered band of small diamonds. The kilim backs have patches perhaps original to the weaving with wrapped selvedges in diagonal bands of color. The clearest illustrations of condition issues may seen the photos-please look closely.
