Description: Truman Boots Plain Toe Java Waxed Flesh Suede Roughout Brown 8.5D Dainite This is a great pair of Truman java waxed flesh plain toe boots with long-lasting Dainite rubber studded sole to prevent slippage. Waxed flesh is actually a Roughout leather -- full-grain leather turned with the rough-side out, also known as reverse suede -- with a light coating of wax to help protect the leather. As it wears away, it produces a wonderful, tough and gritty appearance. Most suede products are really pieces of leather split in half, with the rough side used as suede and the smooth side used as top grain leather so this leather is a real step up. People often fear getting suede wet but full-grain roughout leather like this -- particularly when waxed -- have no problem at all dealing with wet weather. I have found these Truman boots to run true to size. For reference, I believe these should fit for someone who wears size 8D in Red Wing heritage boots (Moc toes and Iron Rangers) and 8.5D in Wolverine 1000 Mile. Personally, I have several pairs of socks in a variety of different thicknesses and switch them out to help me fit a little bit better in boots that are slightly too snug or slightly too loose. I have tried to photograph these from all reasonable perspectives. These have recently been re-soled so the soles are flawless. Though used, the leather appears to be in excellent condition. Because these are pre-owned you should closely examine each of the photos in case I missed something. These have been stored in a smoke-free home.
