Description: True vintage / antique early 1930's Woman's / Ladies long walking dress / suit. Fashioned in early Art Deco, this garment reminds us of the style worn by Wallis Warfield Simpson, as well as dresses seen in the early 1930's movies. Black loose weave wool, with silk bodice and satin cummerbund. Accented with covered buttons (red silk worn from centers) and satin neck tie. Fashioned in early Art Deco, this garment reminds us of the style worn by Wallis Warfield Simpson, as well as dresses seen in the early 1930's movies. Black loose weave wool, with silk bodice and satin cummerbund. Accented with covered buttons (red silk worn from centers) and satin neck tie. Long sleeves with hook and eye closures at wrists. Short slit in lower skirt, topped with satin rosette. Slight blouson bodice. Measurements: ~Waist 24" ~Bust 35" ~Shoulder to hem 60" ~Sleeves 26 1/2 long" ~Shoulders 15" across Condition notes: Holes in wool here and there, these don't show if worn over black lining or slip. Silk bodice fragile. Top hook on bodice front missing. The dress was likely completely lined at one time, as the wool is rough to the skin. The dress is wearable with care, but probably better used as an exhibit or addition to a vintage collection. Coming from a large home where one family's treasures have accumulated for over a century.
