Description: What do you think? Is this man just traveling and camping in the desert, or is he homeless, a bum or in the olden days, a tramp? Either way, he's found himself just a bit of shade from the desert sun under a very large Joshua tree. The card calls them Yucca Palms, but I live in the area where these grow and today these are definitely called Joshua trees. The card is postmarked in Jan 1909 and was sent from Ontario California to Sarah in Roxbury Massachusetts. The message "Sunday. I hoped to write some letters today - but could not - this week will settle us I think. I picked grapefruit for our desert today. (?) is our eating machine, keeps me cooking & reading! Love to all!" Posted. Faint postage ink and staining at top left, hard to see but wanted to point it out. Corner bumps, plus edge wear consistent with a vintage postcard. Please see photos. Please see photos of card for condition and ask any questions before purchase. Please like and follow my eBay store Groovy Postcards, I'm adding hundreds of new postcards every month. Thanks! There is NO TRACKING on International Sales. Sales under $20 are sent USPS with an international stamp. If you are outside the US and want to purchase something priced above $20, please contact me so we can determine shipping cost. Thanks for understanding.
