This NAGASA knife is hand made in traditional Katana forging procedure by an officially certified traditional blacksmith (Mr. Oda) in ODA forging factory, which is a specialized factory for machet in Tosa. NAGASA (Mountain Knife) is one of the traditional Japanese hunting knife, which has been used by MATAGI (traditional bear hunters in northern part of Japan). Unlike ordinary knives, it has unique straight edged blade. The thick and wide double edged blade contributes to sturdiness and good for both right-handed and left-handed. It can be used in various purposes from cutting fish, meat, branches, grasses, and ropes etc.Handle is erogonomically designed for better grip, and durable wooden sheath is coming together. The Blue Paper steel is made from composite of White Paper steel (the purest carbon steel) with chrome and tungsten to improve longer sharpness.And all of his knives are made with the traditional Japanese Katana forging procedure (Warikomi or Sanmai), which is to sandwitch harder steel with softer steel to realize both hardness and viscosity.
