This whistle is made from Thuya Burl which is one of the most expensive woods in the world, specifically for its beauty, aromatic quality, and because it is rare. The smell is really nice, similar to Cedar but very distinct. The wood is also an oily wood that works wonderfully well for wind instruments. I made this whistle with a special brass tuning slide that has brass on the inside and outside of the slide for a perfect telescoping fit for the slide. I also made a really nice case to protect the whistle as well. The sound is crisp and clear with a very nice woody sound. Probably one of the nicest sounding wooden high C whistles you will ever hear! This high C whistle has been hand crafted by Nick Metcalf in New York, USA.
