Description: For your consideration is a cast iron tea kettle made by Thompson & Parkins of Philadelphia (I assume the embossed writing on the swivel lid means Philadelphia and it is misspelled). I have been led to believe that tea kettles like this originally received a Patent in 1868 and this particular tea kettle was manufactured after the Patent rights expired, which would have been in 1885.It has what is commonly called a sunken or pit bottom which means a lid on wood or coal burning heating stove or cookstove can be removed and the bottom can be in the fire.It has a heavy wire bail and the handgrip is made of coiled wire. From the surface it is setting on, to the top of the lid is approximately 7" and it holds approximately 6 quarts. This tea kettle is an old item, that has been used. It has 0 cracks, 0 chips, 0 welds and 0 other repairs. It is like I found it. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Whenever it is practical, I will combine shipping. Local pickup is encouraged and is free. For bookkeeping purposes, this is lot DGW-1542. International buyers will be responsible for custom fees and other fees associated with shipping items.
