Description: Thomas Wolfe Factory Z porcelain platter. Circa 1805 to 1818. Charming rose pattern outlined in gold. Rust/red color. Very well potted. Grayish matte finish. For almost 200 years these were identified as the unknown class Z English porcelain. Now as Thomas Wolfe in Liverpool. Unmarked but it has an incised "IV." This company made also made bone china but the pieces that we have are all hybrid hard paste porcelain. They are not very translucent, perhaps due to the opaque glaze and thickness. 13 1/4 inches long and 8 3/4 inches wide. Condition: Excellent.
