Spine ends and board corners with bumping, binding otherwise in good order. Internally the block is sound, the pages have some age toning, scattered foxing to the early and latter leaves, a little faint offsetting from the plates, but generally clean and tight. 764pp. Well illustrated throughout, a number being illustrations of various microscopes and scientific equipment of the time, as well as colour plates of microscopic specimens, including a tissue guarded colour frontis.
